Mandy Barton’s Story

I began my career in Third Party Logistics. One of my biggest frustrations when I was the customer was working with brokers. They wanted to cherry pick my freight and take the easy stuff. But when I had that really tough load, the one nobody wanted, they quit on me. I would call to see if they’d had any luck and it was obvious to me that they had forgotten about it and were not trying to cover my freight. They quit because it wasn’t easy. I started this company in my parent’s dining room in 1997 with not much more than my own determination. I bought an ancient desk and the cheapest fax machine I could find, put my tiny life savings up for my broker’s bond, and I was in business. I moved the business a year later and we’ve been growing ever since. When I started my business, my marketing plan, if you can call it that, was this: I will never quit on a loyal customer’s tough load. Never. I may, or may not be, successful, but as long as they need me I will use every resource I have available to cover their freight. Why? Because loyal customers have earned the right to expect my best effort, every time.
